Hello friends
Hope you are good!
Over at the lovely Linda ledbetters Studio L3, its sadly come to the finale of the Compendium of Curiosities vol.2 challenges...( sad faces)
but what better way to celebrate by using all that new found inky knowledge than to create a Birthday card for the master and Lord of inks Tim Holtz!
(A fabulous idea Linda!)
Hop over here to Lindas fabulous blog to see all the rules and inspiration........ there's even a very cool prize!!
You can use any of the techniques from either vol.1 or 2. CC
I decided to use the one technique that literally changed how I crafted and that's
the blending technique, its the first one I learnt. I remember watching Tim on you tube
and thinking WOW that distressing is so cool !! I remember getting into my car and heading to the nearest store to get as much of the distress line as I could ..........I was truly inspired...... there was no turning back, I'm totally hooked!
So here's what I created for Tim
(Not a normal card, more of a tag hanging....I dont do normal lol x)
(Not a normal card, more of a tag hanging....I dont do normal lol x)
I spritzed a mixture of Dylusions and distress inks onto a manilla tag #8
then stamped the image and text with rangers Archival ink
I used the blending technique on the Ranger Kraft tags and the brown parcel paper
I then flicked some white Aidrondack paint over the top, coloured in the image with Tims Distress Markers then added some text then, next I got busy with my sewing machine
The Idea-olgy ribbon was stained then distressed with the blending tool
then added to an old key, the lightbulb was fixed to the eyelet of the tag.
to finish I added Tims saying... and of course "Happy Birthday wishes" for Tim
I hope Tim likes it....its going over the pond very soon!
.....this year I was so lucky to be able to experience Ranger U with so many talented people, being taught by the best of the best, Tim , Dyan and Claudine.....something that I never thought could possible happen to little old me!
I owe a mahoosive, thank you to Tim,
he totally changed how I think about the ink and creating,
I will always be inspired by his continued inspiration and creativity
cheers Tim...you rock!
As always feel free to leave a comment, always great to know you popped by
best wishes
