Mini journal cover...

Hello friends...

How is your week?
I hope you are good!

I've had a busy week off work, enjoying some much needed time
with friends and family

However, I have managed to escape to my desk, usually early in the mornings...
Sometimes the mojo just disappears and yes,  its been one of those missing mojo kind of weeks!
So I decided to challenge myself that I was only allowed to use stuff that was already out on my desk,  (including all the  scraps in the bin.)

I've had some of these mini journals sat waiting for a project, so i took one of them and gave it a layer of gesso. (The journals are from a Danish shop here in the UK called Flying tiger )
As I had no distress inks on my desk I used my coffee to stain the ribbon and papers....
I used lots of layers, using scrap cuttings, rusty wire, card and tags...
I stamped randomly using Tim Holtz 'Ledger' stamp,
along with some remnant rub ons from Idea-ology
The butterfly is from one of Tim's Ephemera packs.
To finish I added some splashes of gesso and more coffee splatters

I really enjoyed creating with stuff that was destined for the trash...
As always feel free to leave a comment, always great to know you have popped by!

Have a lovely week!

Leaf journalling....

Hello friends

Hope you are all good
I cannot believe that its nearly November....this year is flying by!

I do really love this time of year, so many different shades of colour!
I'm a collector of just stuff, anything from, junk, books, photos or mother natures gifts...
I was inspired to have a go at journalling onto a leaf....I wasn't sure if it would work but I'm really happy with how it turned out!
I layered some old text onto the leaf using matt-medium, this helps preserve the leaf too!
I then added some stencilling, some stamping and photo from Tim Holtz Idea-ology ephemera pack and a cute frame (prima)
I then carefully stitched into the leaf with my sewing machine and added some acorn shells, some vintage lace  to finish it off...the leaf was then backed onto some black card and cut into shape.
This was really fun to create, it combined all the things I love...
Feel free to leave a comment, I appreciate each and everyone!
have yourselves a lovely weekend
