Ranger ink designer challenge 2018

 Hello friends

Welcome to my first post of 2018!
The last couple of months have been crazy busy, with lots of secret projects on the go...
but today, I'm so excited to share with you one of those exciting projects!

Before I show and tell, I just want to send a big thank you to my dear friend Dyan Reaveley. I remember years ago watching Dyan teach her journaling.  I was totally fascinated with her style, her enthusiasm and her desire to share her knowledge, but the main thing that struck me most of all, was her honesty, her honesty to journal her deepest (sometimes darkest thoughts) her dreams, her hopes and fears for all to see....then she works her magic and creatively puts it all together into "Dyan's"own unique style....its so inspiring to watch
(thank you millions Dyan, for giving me this opportunity and for always encouraging me to be brave...)

You can Check out all about Dyan and  Dylusions here

So back to the challenge.... The Ranger Designer challengne takes place at the Creativation trade show in Arizona USA.  This year it was Dyan's turn to showcase her line of must have products.
Dyan choses a selection of designers and sends them a box containing the same things (just different colours) and the designers work they magic which is then showcased at the show.

I got sent a selection of Dylusion paint colours, they were black marble, melted chocolate, tangerine dream, pure sunshine and vanilla custard.... and yes, those of you that follow my blog will know that colour scares me.... a lot, I like my comfort colour, brown and lots of it!
The box also contained a paper mache top hat!
So this was most defiantly a challengne!
After lots of experimenting, I decided on a patchwork look, I had to make a template of the hat, and make a base....then I painted lots of patches of Ranger cardstock and set about sewing them altogether.
I then got my serious grunge on....
lots of embellishments were added, some ideology and some of my own vintage additions and
not forgetting those pheasent feathers!
Here it is on display at the show!
( thank you to my friend Jess, for sending me this photo)
As soon as they film a video of the Ranger booth, I will add it here so you can see all the other artists "hat" work.....they have made some truly inspirational pieces that you don't want to miss....

I will be back very soon to share some of the other secret projects that I made for the show.
As always please feel free to leave a comment,  I appreciate each and everyone!

Have a lovely week
