First of all a very Happy new year to you!
I know, I'm fashionably late posting...
I can't believe my last post was Halloween!
A few people have contacted me to see if I was ok as Ive not posted in a few months...
I'm happy to report I'm very good thank you, I just took some time out over the madness of christmas as life just got extremely busy, work, family etc.
I always find January to be dark month, the short days, dark nights and the harsh realities of being broke after christmas...it is a struggle to feel motivated or inspired but flip it over and its also the start of a new year, new memories to make, adventures to have and the start of new life/beginnings...so with that said I really want to try and blog more (well at least once a month!) I'm going to share what inspires me, places I visit or maybe where I find some of my vintage stash...you let me know what you would like and I will try and blog about it.
So I thought I would start off with this grungy panel, I was inspired to make this after finding inspiration from Pinterest (I'll post a photo at the end of the post.)
The base is a baseboard from Idea-ology which I covered in a layer of (my favourite) Ranger Opaque crackleTexture paste. When it had ride I added lots of layers of distress paints...
I also added some Paperartsy Infusions, these are little powders of pigments that you shake on, you then spritz with water to activate them....
you can get some really cool colour effects.( a little goes a long way!)
The pocket watch is from my own vintage stash which has rusted up quite nicely.
I then added a quote from Idea-ology along with the butterflies.
The cogs are from my own stash but you can buy them quite cheaply from eBay.
Because the baseboard is card, it allowed me to sew into the edges using my sewing machine
(I think I will however need to replace the needle...I don't recommend you try it with yours!)
I really enjoyed getting creative after having some time out....although my shed is freezing at the moment -1 today!
I'm really looking forward to the spring so I can get out there more...
Anyway, as always please feel free to leave a comment I really do appreciate them xxx
Have a lovely week.
Hope to be back very soon
