Vintage hanging

Hello friends

Hope you are all good!
Just wanted to share a quickie post with you......
A little vintage hanging.....

As most of you may know
I love to work with old photographs,
I search lots of vintage/ junk places searching for bundles of old photos.....
I just love the buzz of finding them

Sometimes a photograph will stand out from the rest......
this is one that did just that...
In my last post (here)  I used a scanned copy,
which gives you the freedom to add different mediums
directly to the image.
Today I'm using an original photo.....
I wanted to add some gesso to the photo but didn't want to run the risk of ruining the photo,
so I used a memory frame and some memory glass......
I added some gesso to the glass then when dry I scratched away to reveal the photo
I added some vintage lace, Idea-ology and some vintage findings
The background was created using distress inks, gesso and beeswax
I also added some of the Remnant Rub-ons and tissue tape

Lots of people ask me if I prefer working on an original photograph or a scanned copy,
I do like to use both ........
like I said before scanned images allow your more freedom.....
but If I had to pick........
it would have to be using an original photograph......
there's just something about it being an original,
which makes it totally unique.

As always feel free to leave a comment,
I really do appreciate you passing by

Have a fabulous week

A quick catch up.....

 Hello friends!

Hope you are all good!
Just a quickie catch up to share some photos of what
I got up to over the weekend.......
On friday I took myself off
to "Art from the heart" in Harrogate
to teach a weekend of |"Everything Ranger "
to a really fabulous group of ladies
(some had travelled from all over the UK......)
Over the weekend we created lots of technique tags using lots
of ranger products.......
On day two we created a tag book to hold all the tags from the weekend
Heres the class in full flow......
the lovely Margaret getting nice and inky.......

some examples from the class
it was lovely to meet Tina.....
Karen was a little camera shy...... but so very smiley
Heres the very fabulous Ali.....
Ali looked after us and fed us all the most
gorgeous food
(Thank you so much Ali! and for looking after me too!)
Here I am working very hard...honest!
I had a visit from the lovely Kate and her Elenor
who bought me some chocolate treats for my trip home....nom nom

And after a slightly traumatic train journey home which involved
me taking refuge in a bike hold (long story!)
I came home to this .......
which made me spring a couple of leaky eyes!

A mahoosive Thank you to
Ben, Ali, Bekkah, Su and everyone who came along
to the weekend, it was great to meet you and was lots of inky fun.......

Hope to be back soon with a make or two later on in the week
Have a good week

Tag hanging

Hello Friends!!
Hope you are all good!

I've had a busy couple of weeks here.....
catching up with Creative Chemistry 102!!
WOW......What an amazing class!!
Tim is the best much information and lots of inspiration!

Then I've been catching up on jobs that really, really needed doing,
some re-decorating, some de junking and I even re-organised my shed.....
I know.....three things that I don't enjoy doing!

So while I was inside my shed I decided to have a dabble with some ink ......
So rude not too.....right?!
I have a lot of people ask me if I only use original photos in my work?
the answer to that is yes I usually do.....
I like to try and give life back to a photo that may of been stuffed away never to be seen again......
plus I really like the look of the original photos.....
But saying that I thought I would try a photo copy so I got scanning!
I scanned the photo onto Rangers Water colour cardstock
and then added some distress inks.....
I added some old vintage lace, some Idea-ology, an old key and the heart was covered in distress embossing powders.
The background stamps were stamped using Numeric stamps by Tim Holtz
I stitched around the tag and the photo and got distressing and added some rusty
 wire to create a hanging....
Right its getting  dark and rather chilly here in shedquarters....
time to go indoors!
As always feel free to leave a comment

Wishing you a fabulous week!

OOoo I nearly forgot
the winner of the layering stencil was picked by Mr Kaz

Pocket tag

 Hello Friends

and tons of product information .....

So a quickie post to share this pocket tag with you.....
Its made with a Ranger # 10 tag
I used Dylusions and distress inks to colour the card
and stamped using Tim Holtz worn text stamp set
I used some of the new Tim Holtz layering stencils for the background....
(I love these stencils!)
I had a good root through my vintage photos and found this image
of a family on a day out......
I added tissue tape,a journalling ticket and some idea-olgy.....
along with some of my own vintage finds and added a remnant rub on, onto the photo
I added some rusty wire so I could hang it .....
and punched out a tab in black card
using a punch.
