Hello friends
I hope you are all good!
It's finally February... (believe me, I don't wish to wish away the days or months) but with February
now here it's so lovely to see the signs of spring just around the corner....Snowdrops, daffodils, baby lambs, longer days... it feels so much better than those dark January days...
So today I'm sharing this vintage inspired panel....I was inspired by these images from pinterest of so beautiful vintage plastered walls.... I just love that look!
I started with a base board ( Idea-ology) I love to use these as it you can just make out some of the text under the gesso, plus they are very sturdy.
I gesso-ed the board, then added a layer of old text pages, then repeated the gesso.
Next I peeled away some of the text pages to give a layered finish, I applied a small amount of crackle paste and left it to dry completely.
Next I added colour using Oxides....stormy sky was just perfect for this look! I also used some broken china and ground expresso....
I then added some archival ink to give it that rusty worn look....
The photo, words and frame are all from Idea-ology and the vintage lace is from my own stash.
To finish I stitched into the board and hand sewed in some old buttons to give another layer of interest.
I really hope you like it, I think my favourite thing to create is backgrounds!
Please feel free to leave a comment, I really appreciated each one
Have a lovely week!
Hope to be back soon
