Hello friends..

I hope you are good,
A super quick post tonight to share a journal page i created...
if you are on instagram I have saved the background tutorial to my highlights so you can see how I created the background there...

When it was dry I spritzed in cracked pistachio distress oxide then dried it with a heat tool

Next I added some crackle paste and allowed it to completed dry...
Using Dina wakley scribble sticks I added more color.
I then stamped using Stampers Anonymous Mini media Marks stamp set( S CMS 364)
I also doodled some circles using a unibazl sign whit pen.

The photo is from Tim Holtz Photo Booth and the lace is ideology

I coloured the leaves using distress inks in peeled paint

I really hope you like this make
feel free to leave comment, I appreciate them

April - His Heart

Hello friends

I hope you are all good!
Today I'm sharing with you a little Idea-ology project that Ive been working on...
I love to create with Idea-ology, I have to say its probably my favourite product lines from Tim Holtz.

I started by using the Paper fastener tin, I applied lots of layers of distress paints, gesso and crackle paints, sealed with a layer of vintage collage medium.
The tin was lined with papers and I cut down some of the Etcetera trims to create little shelves to rest some of the ideology pieces on.
I then framed it with one of the new Sizzix Trinket frames from the chapter 2 series, I gave it a distressed look using crackle paste and distress paints.
I added the baseboard paper doll and created a small hoop for the little boy to hold using some old rusty wire and then finished by attaching some of the wings to him..
The lid was lined with papers and another distressed frame was added, I distressed one of the new date dials using distress paints.  I added a star to the middle and some words from the clippings/

I fished by adding a Faucet knob to the top of the tin by drilling through using my trusty dremal.

Thank you so much for passing by, feel free to leave a comment, I really do appreciate them.

Wishing you a lovely Easter break, I'm off to enjoy some precious time with family and friends
Best wishes

April - The Professor

Hello friends

I hope you are are all good!
Today I'm sharing with you an Etcetera tag and trims....
Ive been so inspired by so many friends using this set of stamps that I thought I would have a go too...

check out more inspiration from some very talented friends here...

Igirlzoe - Ooodles of inspiration, keep scrolling down zoe's blog, she's the master of these sets!

Emma Williams - so much incredible detail!

Kath stewart  -kath has some really cool looks with the professor... love them all

Anne Redfern - Anne is the master of Mini Albums, this one is not to be missed...

I started by creating a background using distress oxides, Tim Holtz has 12 new colours to choose from, check out his blog here for more details.
I used cracked pistachio, mermaid lagoon, fired brick and some walnut stain distress ink.
I then stamped in distress hickory smoke archival using the Fragments (CMS368) set from Stampers Anonymous.... it gives such a beautiful flourished background.
I then stamped using The Professor (CMS373) and accessorised his outfit with  the Distinguished set (CMS371) again Stampers anonymous.
I then added some ideology and some ephemera
The Etcetera trims are perfect for adding a little ledge for the tags so you can add those extra details... I coloured mine used delusions paint in slate grey to colour mine as the paint is perfect to paint onto the trim, you only need one coat.
I really enjoyed putting this tag together... the stamps are so much fun with all the different options, be sure to check out my friends blogs too for more inspiration.

Art from the Heart stock all the Tim Holtz products and much more, hop over here to check them out

In the meantime, feel free to leave a comment I really do appreciate them, have yourselves a lovely week!

bye for now

April-Ideas and Dreams

Hello friends...
I hope you are good!

Today I'm sharing with you a Mini journal using lots of Tim Holtz Idea-ology and the new Tim Holtz Sizzix Chapter 2 release - thinlets (664178 Crochet)
Honestly, I told myself I didn't need any of the new release....but then I saw them and then I decided that YES, I did need them!! The detail is just amazing....totally blown away by the intricacy of the dies, you will not be disappointed!

I used the Idea-ology worn wallpaper as a base for the cover, followed by the journal cards and ephemera.
Used my vintage typewriter for the words and framed them with one of the new adornment frames
I used lots of stitching into the paper and card.
I then cut out more crochet dies, coloured them using distress inks (walnut stain) and cut them to make header tabs for my journal.
The believe was cut out using the new Alphanumeric thinlet die (another must have die!)
I also used some design tape to to trim the crochet onto the front cover,
the star is also from Idea-ology
I also stamped onto the mini tag using a Stampers anonymous set called correspondence (CMS 225)
I really enjoyed pulling all the different elements together to create this mini journal,
(the mini books are available from a shop called Flying tiger in the UK...
The dies and Idea-ology are available from Art from the heart)

As always please feel free to leave a comment I really do appreciate them...
Have a lovely week!

April = Stay Curious tag

Hello friends

I hope you are all good...
Today is a quick post to share with you another Etcetera Tag by Tim Holtz
Ive used lots of distress products from, distress inks, oxides, archival and paints to create lots of Grungy layers...
The cogs are by Sizzix/Tim Holtz called Industrial, has to be one of my favourite dies...
Tim and sizzix have just released 2019 chapter 2 check out the Facebook live's so great to see Tim looking so well and back to doing what he does best!
The crackle was created using Ranger's crackle paste....yep, another one of my favourites!

To finish I  added some stitching and applied more inks to the crackle.

Sorry it's such a quick post...I have a ton of stuff that I'm supposed to be doing, I keep getting distracted by the inks!
Anyway...If you want to see the new sizzix dies hop over to ART FROM THE HEART (but be quick) they have them in stock!
